I gave this book a 3.5 star rating because while I do like the fact that it has many colourful and useful images to give inspiration, it would have been nice to see some instruction on how to do the more complicated builds. I also found the tips and tricks that would pop up on some of the pages to be quite useful. I really like how the book is divided into themed chapters such as “Once Upon a Time” and “Things that go Bump in the Night”, makes it easier if you wanted to do a themed Lego challenge or something to that effect. Beautiful pages reveal, explore, and celebrate the fascinating story of LEGO® bricks and the history behind them in this newly updated edition of The LEGO® Book. That being said, this is not an instructional Lego book and you won’t find step by step instructions on how to build what you see in the book, rather it’s mainly for ideas and inspiration. Discover all there is to know about one of the worlds most beloved toy companies. I had previously looked through a few different Lego books but they didn’t really grab me but when I looked at this one I really liked what I saw. There are also simple and speedy Quick Builds and Lego Challenges for you to try with your friends.Īt our library we are in the process of starting up a Lego club and so I began a hunt for useful and interesting Lego books that would be an asset to our club, and in this book I definitely found it. With over 500 different builds to keep you busy, you’re sure to not run out of ideas any time soon. Lego Play Book: Ideas to Bring your Brick to Life is a chock full of tips and tricks to inspire Lego builders of all ages.
